Diana Taylor (superintendent)
Diana Taylor (born 1955) is the former New York State Superintendent of Banks and the domestic partner of Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg. Known as the "de facto First Lady of New York City," Taylor worked hard to break away from sidekick, arm candy, or trophy-date associations, and she continues to move towards independent recognition. Taylor is known to be ambitious, profession, practical, and down-to-earth in personality. “If it makes me comfortable, I’m going to wear it," she stated in response to the fashion press's criticism at an outfit repetition.〔
==Early life==
Taylor's father was a Union Carbide biochemist and her mother a schoolteacher. Taylor stated in a New York Times article, “Growing up, I imagined I would come to New York, get married, move to the suburbs and have kids. It just didn’t happen that way.”〔 She attended Milton Academy, then went on to earn an A.B. in economics from Dartmouth College, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.〔(Forbes Profile: Diana L.
